Contracts Lead
 
Reporting to: Contracts Manager
Depot: Doncaster, Yorkshire
 
THE ROLE
 
Join our dynamic team as a Contracts Lead, where you'll be accountable for planning, coordinating, and ensuring the successful completion of live projects. As a key point of contact for clients and operatives, you'll play a pivotal role in maintaining high standards of work within agreed timescales and budgets. This position, based in our Doncaster depot, involves national travel based on project locations.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
 
Plan, manage, and coordinate live projects, ensuring compliance with specifications and safe systems of work.
Develop Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and Health & Safety documentation.
Ensure workforce compliance with health, safety, environment, and quality procedures.
Work with procurement to manage material approvals and orders in line with specifications.
Prepare and brief Job Packs for Site Operatives, ensuring project scope fulfillment.
Plan and manage project resources, including labor, plant, and materials.
Accountable for project progress against the program, ensuring productivity goals are met.
Review and sign off on operatives' site diaries and timesheets.
Attend client meetings, building strong relationships with the site team.
Manage change effectively, working with the commercial team for proper administration.
Assist Operations Manager and Contracts Managers with day-to-day resource organization.
Maintain document control, capturing all site records for the health and safety file.
Conduct "Toolbox Talks" and perform Site Safety and quality audits.
Maintain an up-to-date material stock list, collaborating with the logistics and transport team.
Undertake line management duties for operatives, including induction, PDRs, training, sickness, and disciplinary hearings.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
 
Essential
 
Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role.
Site Managers Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) or IOSH Managing Safely.
CSCS Managers Card.
Working knowledge of CDM regulations.
Program and Risk Management, cost control, including forecasting, actual cost, and value reporting.
Good knowledge of specifications and testing regime relevant to series 1200, 1300 & 1400 of the specification for highways works.
Competent in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Excellent communication, people, and team management skills.
Ability to challenge designs and resolve problems to conclusion.
Demonstrate the right behaviors to lead and motivate the team in line with our Company values, ensuring high standards of compliance.
Desirable
 
·Degree HNC or equivalent.
·Appointed Persons Lifting.
·Crane Supervisor.
·Temporary Works Co-ordinator.
·Knowledge of NEC form of contract.
·Knowledge of Microsoft Project.
·Confined space training.
Experience
·Great at prioritizing effectively and handling multiple responsibilities and deadlines.
·Experienced in Civils, Street Lighting, Technology Works, or Traffic Sign Contract Management.
·A strong communicator and able to build strong relationships with people at all levels.
·Detail-oriented and able to identify improvements needed.
·Great at managing your time effectively.
·Looking for a busy environment.
·A strong leader.
·Proficient in Microsoft Office.
·Willing to travel.
