Communications and Development Manager
 
 
Our client is looking for a Communications and Development Manager to join their team in Barnet.
 
Working within the Senior Management Team the role supports Highway operations across the various service steams to ensure consistent and complaint communications.
 
The successful candidate will be responsible for the implementation of the Service's communications, marketing and media strategy as well as the development of all staff.
 
 
Responsibilities of the role:
 
·To devise, carry out and evaluate marketing, communication and promotional strategies and campaigns, assisting the Service leads in the delivery of their Forward Plans.
·To lead a team of communication, development and marketing staff ensuring the efficient and effective coordination of all communications.
·To lead and coordinate the learning and development of all staff, including completion of mandatory training.
·To lead on communication and positive promotion of the service to both internal and external customers through agreed media.
·To actively seek out, analyse and act on feedback from customers and stakeholders to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Service.
·Continually monitor, assess and manage the reputation of the organisation among key stakeholders; advise on and instigate communication actions to deliver effective ongoing reputation management.
·Plan, develop, implement, support and evaluate communication and marketing programmes and strategies.
·Ensure accurate, positive and widespread coverage in traditional news, online media and social media.
·Provide a professional lead on social media presence and activities; populate web and intranet pages and social media with tailored content in support of communication and marketing strategies and plans.
·Work with and provide professional development and support to those communications and marketing colleagues based in the Service.
·Keep up to date with emerging channel technologies and ensure effective management and further development of all communication channels used, as well as advising on alternative channels and developing them, where required.
·Provide effective communication support during times of crisis, including taking the lead on out-of-hours emergencies.
·Copy write and proofread to professional standards communication and marketing materials produced by the unit and services.
