My client is actively looking for a Transport Planner to join the Transport Planning team in their Birmingham Office. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a fast-growing, multi-disciplinary infrastructure consultancy with the scope to work on a variety of projects.
The company has a client-focused approach which has enhanced their reputation as one of the leading development and transport planning consultancies. Their multi-disciplinary teams are working on a wide variety of projects in both the public and private sectors and, with a strong forward workload, they are now looking to expand the Transport Planning team.
The can provide the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, whether looking at site feasibility and Local Plan promotion or supporting clients with planning applications and discharge of conditions. Locally, the team has advised on key city centre regeneration schemes including Paradise, Birmingham, creating new communities of 100 to 5,000 homes, to strategic employment sites such as Symmetry Park, Rugby and Peterborough Gateway, prepared the town centre movement strategy for Shrewsbury and helped Universities grow and expand, such as UCB and BCU.
You will be part of a passionate team of transport professionals and play an important role in supporting the senior team members in delivering transport advice for both private and public sector clients as well as supervising junior members of the team. Day to day you will find yourself developing and influencing transport strategies as well as preparing transport assessments and travel plans.
They are looking for a positive and enthusiastic team player who has a passion for transport planning. You will be degree qualified, ideally in transport, geography, engineering, or related field. Within this role you will be drawing upon your experience and understanding of the planning system as well utilising your expertise with Transport Assessments, Travel Planning and Junction Modelling.
For this role, experience with parking studies, layout design and an understanding surrounding issue related to road safety will be pivotal. Experience with coordinating inputs from multidisciplinary teams into land development projects will be valuable experience to draw upon within this position.
You will be a good communicator and confident to attend meetings and to advise clients and design teams. Ideally, you will also be a member of a relevant professional institution and working towards TPP Qualification or equivalent.
