Job description

My client a leading Telecoms Network Provider building their own network in the West. They are providing full fibre networks to communities in the West of England and into Wales to improve the UK's infrastructure and broadband speeds. Working hard to bring rural communities, some of the fastest fibre across the UK. Working with new technologies, they offer great opportunities to gain new skills and knowledge and develop your opportunities within the telecoms sector.
 
They are currently looking for a civil manger to join their ever growing organisation. Working within their designated team that delivers the infrastructural build of their fibre network across the region. Reporting, evaluating, monitoring and managing the delivery of the civil build. Working closely with the supervisors and office teams to ensure work in NRWSA compliant and within the constraints of the permits. Making sure all work is done to the correct standards and meets clients expectations.
 
This role is a 6 month contract position with possibilities to be extended or go permanent. It is based in Devon and you get a Vehicle, fuel cards, tools and PPE.
 
Requirements:
 
·Previous Civil Manager experience
·Good knowledge of civil works
·Excellent knowledge of the Telecoms sector
·NRSWA knowledge and ideally NRSWA Supervisor ticket
·Good communication skills
·Good IT skills
·Ability to coach and motivate
·Experience of working with local authorities
·Experience with budgets and finance
 
Responsibilities
 
·Ensure construction work is completed in a timely, cost effective and safe manner
·Ensure direct report targets are met & maintain productivity
·Ensure weekly update reports are produced
·Work closely with Local Authorities, Highways and local Utility companies to ensure smooth approved civils works are conducted
·Co-ordinate, and present financial sign off of completed works
·Ensure your understanding and awareness of Heath, Safety and environment regulations are current and appropriate to civil works
·Work with customers to ensure the best service is provided
·Be a head figure for public liaison duties
·Ensure resources, equipment, technology & techniques are evaluated and improved on where necessary
