A fantastic job opportunity has arisen for a Senior/Principal Traffic Engineer to join a rapidly growing and expanding consultancy based in Central London.

The position will involve working in the Traffic Engineering Team in support of the Technical Director and Associates, and to lead on schemes as and when directed.

The Award Winning Engineering Team focuses on a range of traffic and transportation projects both in isolation and as part of larger multi-disciplined company based schemes.

The role requires experience of a range of traffic and transportation skills and knowledge including the areas of road safety, cycling and walking, public transport, traffic management and junction and link design for a variety of public and private sector Clients predominantly within the London area.

Projects may be undertaken at various stages depending upon the specification / brief (eg outline / feasibility / detailed design). Your role will specifically necessitate project management skills to effectively enable the delivery of projects as and when directed.

You will be expected to project manage and deliver a range of schemes, utilising and coordinating with junior members of staff and other skill disciplines as required. You will have responsibility for cost, programme and quality on either projects designated as the lead engineer on, or partial elements of larger projects as part of a design team.

The position will have an element of ‘Client facing’ responsibility, and the successful candidate is expected to communicate with Clients as and when required in a courteous and effective manner and build on existing Client relationships.

You will also be expected to help in the preparation of tender bids as part of business development work; and help in the development of potential new work and Clients.

Applicants should have strong communication skills and some leadership qualities to effectively undertake the role. Strong written and oral English is also essential.
