Job description

An excellent contract opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to join a market leading consultancy. This role offers hybrid work, which will be shared between home, the office and on site. Our client is considering candidates outside IR35 and the outcome will be subject to an IR35 assessment.
 
As a Project Manager, you will assume responsibility for the day-to-day management of all project activity. Our client operates a flexible working policy, and with this you will be part of an exciting team of experts, who respect each other and work towards a common goal. Experience working highways, infrastructure and transport schemes will be essential.
 
Your responsibilities will be
 
- Leading on engagement and developing lasting relationships with our clients project partners
- Delivery of projects from inception to completion ensuring scope, contracts, budgets and QA procedures are all in place and maintained through the project lifecycle
- Working on the production of technical and commercial specifications, drawings and schedules that comply with the scope of services
- Preparing and distributing as appropriate Monthly Reports, meeting minutes and (MS Project) programmes, and deliver (MS PowerPoint) presentations as and when required
- Interfacing with the internal Planning team as necessary for the production/updating of programmes on larger projects (typically generated in Primavera P6 format)
- Facilitating risk management workshops for both design and project related elements
- Leading engagement with our programme and project partners potentially including other consultants, quantity surveyors, architects, specialist designers and the like
- Ensuring that fees/costs are prepared on time and correctly submitted to the Client with all necessary supporting information to facilitate prompt payment
- Developing change within the project scope whilst ensuring delivery to Client satisfaction
- Working with bid teams to ensure preparation of proposals for multi-disciplinary tenders
- Providing mentorship to junior members of staff
 
Key experience required
 
- Highways, Infrastructure and Transportation project experience
- Minimum HNC/HND in a Building/Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Preferably hold an appropriate Project Management qualification and/or are a member of a relevant institution (e.g. MAPM)
- Experience in a project management role in the construction industry, preferably within a multidisciplinary engineering design consultancy in the transport sector
- Knowledge of construction and the design processes
- Knowledge of health and safety legislation, including CDM Regulations
- An understanding of various types of procurement methods and contract administration requirements including NEC3 and NEC4
- Ideally major project or programme experience
