Carrington West are assisting their local authority client based in Somerset in their search for a Town Planning Officer to join their Policy team on an initial 3-month contract.
The ideal candidate will have experience in managing processes related to progressing a local plan, as the successful candidate will be aiding upon critical programming and study commissioning - as the council draft a new scheme. The suited candidate should have experience in a similar position, whilst also having relevant rural area experience. They must be motivated, technically knowledgeable, and possess the ability to confidently advise.
 
You will be required to have ample knowledge and familiarity of working within a council planning team as you will be expected to hit the ground running. A candidate with wide-ranging knowledge on factors that affect local plans and the inner workings of how best to deploy new schemes will be favoured.
 
It would be beneficial, although not mandatory, to hold a RTPI accredited Planning Degree or equivalent Planning qualification and/or have considerable experience in a similar position; and also hold a licentiate membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (or equivalent).
 
 
Carrington West Pay Rate - £30-£40 Per Hour
