About the role
 
An exciting opportunity for a Senior Engineer to join my clients' Highways in Birmingham.  The main purpose of this role is to deliver designs that are buildable and fully compatible with the proposed traffic management. Preparing and overseeing designs in relation to your field of expertise as directed and preparation and checking of technical reports.  You'll also manage a small team of Engineers to deliver projects in accordance with the clients' brief.
 
Senior Engineer is required that has a specialism in at least one but ideally more of the following fields:
 
Highway and Geometric Design
Signs, road marking and lining design
Traffic Safety Engineering and Road Safety Audits
Pavement design and asset management
VRS design
Drainage design
 
Successful candidates will have a particular specialism but will also have a robust overall knowledge of the Highway design field.
 
To be successful in this role
 
You will have significant experience in the detailed design of highway related projects. Knowledge of highway's assets, the appropriate solutions for renewal or improvement and a thorough knowledge of Highways England Design Manuals and Specifications.  A degree in Civil Engineering and professional membership of the ICE or similar or working towards professional status.
