Are you are an experienced Project Manager with Highways experience, now seeking a new opportunity?
 
Would you be keen on working for a Principal Contractor on Major Highways schemes?

My client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee all aspects of a project from conception to completion, working alongside the Contracts Manager to provide independent engineering and supervisory support to Highways schemes across the Midlands area.
 
Working for a Principal contractor to Highways England covering Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, Sheffield, Coventry, Milton Keynes and Lincolnshire, you will be expected manage established site and contact systems to control the flow of engineering information between the company and client on multiple live schemes simultaneously.
 
Responsible for the performance of Supervisors and Foremen under your control, you will continually appraise and develop their skills, whilst generating and reviewing H&S paperwork and identifying engineering discrepancies within the works information to resolve these issues to ensure works are constructed with the full agreement of the Designer.
 
 
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
 
·Plan and oversee all aspects of a project from cradle to grave.
·Defining a project's scope and goals.
·Identify safe and unsafe working conditions.
·Planning and scheduling project time lines.
·Coordinating project staff.
·Resource planning and allocation.
·Quality assurance.
·Carrying out method statement and risk assessment.
·Managing project administration, including all documentation.
·Meeting budgetary objectives.
·Reporting regularly to senior management.
·Tracking project performance.
·Raise EWN's & Raise TQ's
·Organise resources (labour, plant, materials, sub-contractors) on each site to complete the work to plan and programme
·Ensure that all plant & machinery provided for the works is suitable for the tasks being undertaken  
·Ensure site related paperwork is completed and issued to the relevant department(s) on a weekly basis
·Monitor working hours, to ensure compliance with WTD
·Responsibility for performance of Supervisors and Foremen under their control and to continually appraise and develop their skills
·Coach and look after new starters, so that they become competent to work alongside a motorway or high-speed road
·Organise training of employees in the various skills required for execution of the works
·Annual appraisals
·Ensure that only trained personnel are used for the activities being undertaken
 
 
The Candidate:
 
To be considered for this opportunity, you will be an experienced Project Manager or Site Agent, with sound knowledge of the Construction, High speed Roads or Highways sectors.
 
Those who can demonstrate good understanding of Civils works and Drainage on the High Speed network will be much preferred, with qualifications to include:
 
·HND / HNC qualified or equivalent (Civil Engineering or similar)
·CSCS Supervisor Card essential
·SSSTS or SMSTS essential
·NRSWA preferable
·Competency with MS Project.
 
Flexibility to travel across the area will be essential, with occasional night work to facilitate the start of schemes, although this is a predominantly a days role.
