Principal Traffic Consultant
 
Our client is looking for a Principal Traffic Consultant to join their London office.
 
The role offers the excellent opportunity to join an established team, with a varied client portfolio across the UK and internationally.
 
The successful candidate will be joining the Streets and Networks team and ideally have experience in designing, modelling and appraising net zero, active travel, and transformational placemaking and traffic management solutions.
 
 
Requirements of the role:
 
·A strong technical background, with a solid understanding of streets/traffic engineering first principles and demonstrable experience.
 
·Knowledge/understanding of local junction modelling software (local network/ microsimulation), data requirements and the interpretation and presentation of modelling results.
·Experience in providing technical guidance, effectively delivering projects, and acting in a client-facing capacity.
·Robust written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draw on a variety of tools to communicate complex issues concisely and in a non-technical language.
·Experience of working on the design and modelling of active travel, public transport, junction improvement or place-making schemes.  
·Experience in mentoring junior staff.
·Bachelor and higher qualification (or equivalent) in civil engineering, geography, mathematics or other relevant subject
·Working towards Chartered status with membership of a relevant professional institution
