I am currently looking for a Principal Parking Engineer or Consultant to join a fast growing consultancy in London. You will join a vibrant team and work on major prestigious projects within London and across the UK, enabling you to advance your career, whilst giving you the freedom to achieve personal growth and development.
 
The role specifically requires a detailed knowledge of parking scheme design, regulations and policies, highways design, traffic engineering, transportation planning, and the ability to develop and initiate schemes from inception through to completion.
 
As the Principal Parking Engineer you will also have day to day supervision and management of managerial and technical staff and the co-ordination and direction of staff and projects where other design teams are involved.
 
 
The Role
·Managerial and technical lead on multiple projects, which can include controlled parking zones programmes and Low Traffic Neighbourhoods
·Provide effective management of direct reports (including undertaking performance reviews)
·Assume responsibility for financial control, quality, and technical input for all assigned projects.
·Develop new initiatives and pursue opportunities through business development activities that will raise personal and company profile and contribute to professional and public activities that have management team approval.
 
 
The Ideal Candidate
·Relevant Degree or equivalent
·Membership of a professional institution (e.g., MICE or MCIHT) or aiming towards this status
·Alternative consideration given to significant relevant experience in lieu of specified education and professional qualification.
·Comprehensive understanding of parking schemes and associated regulations.
·Comprehensive understanding of traffic and transportation techniques, highway design and transport planning principles and a proven track record in project design and delivery;
·Sound computer literacy (knowledge of using spreadsheets, Microsoft Word, Excel, Project and Outlook)
·Preferably conversant with and/or intermediate user of CAD design software;
·Good understanding of traffic and highway legislation;
·Comprehensive knowledge of relevant technical / industry / TfL standards;
·Good project management skills;
·Excellent financial acumen;
·Ability to work to deadlines;
·Ability to communicate at all levels;
·Experience and ability working on or managing multi-task projects.
