Carrington West are assisting their local authority client based in the West Midlands in the search for a Principal Development Management Planning Officer on an initial 6 month contract, then rolling.

The purpose of the role is to deal with a diverse range of planning applications including residential and commercial, as well as large scale complex applications (at pre and post application stage), assume line management responsibilities and utilise your powers to determine and clear a wide range of planning applications. You will also work closely with senior members of staff in the allocation and prioritisation of work to ensure a seamless response to the challenges and opportunities that inevitably arise.
 
The ideal candidate would have previous experience in a similar role and would hold a relevant town planning qualification. Being a chartered RTPI member or working towards chartership would be desirable but is not mandatory.
 
The council are looking for candidates who will be able to hit the ground running and are offering flexible working hours and home working arrangements as a result of Covid-19.
 

Carrington West Pay Rate - £45+ per/hour
