Job Overview
USL (Map Group UK) are focused on the design, build and maintenance of telecom infrastructure for key clients in the fixed telecom market. Working collaboratively with clients, USL brings commitment, innovation, teamwork, and accountability to deliver long-term partnerships. We deliver a wide range of essential infrastructure services to the utilities, transport, data & Telcom sector across the UK and Ireland.
We are currently looking to recruit poling teams to be based out of Devon, SW Wales,
 
 
As a member of the poling team your duties & responsibilities will be:
·Proven track record of Installation and removal of poles, including the dressing of new poles
·Safe excavation works use of CAT and Genny
·Replacing/renewing existing drop-wires
·Operate Pole Erection Unit in line with H&S legislation
·Cable Jointing
·Replacing/renewing block and tails
·Ensuring all works are completed in accordance with Service Level Agreements
·Undertaking works in accordance with Health and Safety legislation, company and client Health and Safety standards
·Operate MEWP and work at heights on telegraph poles (recognised qualification)
 
 
You will have the following qualifications and be able to prove experience and competence:
·Full Cat C driving licence max 6 points
·Digital tacho card and familiar with domestic drivers' hours and WTD
·Flexible and have the availability to work away from home if required
·PEU experience and loader slinger licence NPORs or equivalent
·Self-motivated, achievement orientated and be able to stay calm in pressure situations
·Excellent time management
·Good communication skills, with internal and external clients and representatives
·Organised and lead by example, results driven
·Tablet and smart phone literate
·Worked within the Openreach overhead and underground network
·Hold full NRSWA Street-works qualifications at operative level
·Able to use mobile devices of on-site documentation
 
 
We are also looking for candidates that would willing to train to the above standards. All training will be provided after completing a 1-month awareness field-based taster programme. On successful completion of the taster programme full training will be delivered at our national training centre DTN academy.
Grandfather rights and people with HGV class 2 preferred but not essential.
 
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £26,000 plus synthetics, plus bonus £40-60K OTE.
Location: South West / South Wales
