Planning Conservation Officer – Local Authority Role
Carrington West are assisting their local authority client based in Essex with their search for a Planning Conservation Officer to join their Planning Department on a 5-month contract.
You will join the Heritage Conservation Team within the Development Control section and your work will require you to provide Development Control officers with advice on proposals impacting on conservation areas, locally listed buildings and the settings of listed buildings.
You will also be expected to answer general queries on heritage assets within the District and provide formal pre-application advice and there may also be opportunities to work on the preparation of conservation area character appraisals and other guidance documents.
It is expected that you will be self-motivated and able to work with your own initiative.
A full UK driving licence and access to a car are essential for carrying out site visits.
