Job description
We are seeking an experienced Planner to support complex defence programmes. This role involves developing and maintaining integrated project schedules, conducting schedule analysis, and providing risk-informed forecasts aligned with defence governance. The Senior Planner will collaborate with Project Managers, Engineering, Commercial, and Risk teams to ensure schedules reflect scope, cost, risk, and resource constraints while adhering to regulatory standards.
Planner (Defence Programmes)
- Location: New Malden 2/3 days per week
- Contract: Full Time Contract - 12 Months
- Salary/Rate: £55 Per Hour Inside IR35
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain integrated, resource- and cost-loaded schedules throughout the project lifecycle (design, manufacture, test, etc.).
- Provide schedule performance analysis, including critical path, float, dependencies, and milestones.
- Support Earned Value Management (EVM) and change management processes.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure realistic schedules and support decision-making.
- Contribute to internal/external assurance reviews and mentor junior planners.
Skills & Experience:
- Significant project planning experience in defence, aerospace, or regulated environments.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6.
- Strong knowledge of critical path analysis and schedule performance measurement.
- Ability to communicate planning data to non-planning stakeholders.
- British National (security clearance required).
Desirable:
- Experience with MOD or equivalent defence customers.
- Knowledge of EVM and risk analysis techniques.
- Professional accreditation (e.g., APM, PMI).
