Job description

Are you a senior planner with experience working with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Projects? Are you looking for a new opportunity in a well-established utilities environment with responsibility from tender to completion?


I'm working with a well-established telecommunications and multi-utility company working across the UK. The client has won multiple awards across their infrastructure builds and has a brilliant ethos when it comes to internal progression and upskilling workers.


They currently have an opening for a senior project Planner to join their office in Borehamwood. This role is office-based Monday to Friday within office working hours 8 am until 5 pm.


As a permanent member of staff, you will join the team in a senior position, producing programmes for design procurement construction installation and commissioning activities for each project. You will be taking responsibility for these projects, being the lead position and reporting to the planning and project control manager.


Skills and Experience:
·Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft packages, including Microsoft Project, Primavera P6
·Previous experience working within Utilities
·HNC with a construction focus
·Demonstration of knowledge and practical application of planning and construction activities.
·Experience with NEC Form of Contracts
·Working Knowledge of FIDIC & JCT Forms of Contract
·Driving licence
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
·Evaluation of Project tender documents in order to build detailed programmes specifying cost, time and resource requirements (NEC or other).
·Development of tender programmes into construction programmes (1st principals).
·Production of programmes throughout the duration of Projects.
·Implement change control process including early warnings, compensations events and project managers instructions as and when required. 
·Co-ordination of input into the programme from the construction team and take the 'lead' on programme development.
·Review construction progress with input from the construction team, update programmes and produce reports as necessary.
·Earned value / Project reporting encompassing resource & cost loading with associated CPI & SPI reporting.
·Highlight areas of concern with regard to construction progress and review mitigation measures with the construction team.
·Liaise with Client's Planners and Project Managers as required.
·Attend site regularly.
·Collation of progress information & production of progress reporting as required.
·Ensure planning techniques across the Company are adhered to.
·Management and supervision of other Planners as directed by the Planning Manager.
