P6 Planner - Utilities

Carrington West are pleased to present this exciting new vacancy with our client who are one of the UK's top environmental services companies. Specialising in environmental, drainage and sewer services across a broad range of locations, they are now looking to add to their team with an experienced P6 Planner as a result of consistent and continued growth.

The successful candidate will have responsibility for building construction programmes and dealing with alterations on a range of civil / engineering schemes. Use 'Primavera' software P6 to build programmes and deal with alterations and advise the site teams of progress and plans. You will support the successful delivery of fully logical linked programmes that comply with the planning standard and client requirements. Continuously monitor programmes to ensure they are updated to accurately reflect progress and reflect the revised forecast of the works.

Role responsibilities:

• Development of tender programme into construction programme with assistance from engineering/construction staff.
• Production of programmes from "First Principles" with assistance from engineering/construction.
• Progress of programmes with site teams and highlight areas of concern and introduce mitigation measures.
• Regular site visits to assist site teams with planning matters.
• Collation of progress information & production of progress reporting .
• Update programme following Change Control procedure .
• Report any planning issues to the senior project manager and site management team
• Plan weekly site activities and provide as built progress
• Development of tender programme into construction programme with assistance from engineering/construction staff.
• Production of programmes from "First Principles" with assistance from engineering/construction staff.
• Co-ordination of input from all departments into the programme.

Essential experience/qualifications:

• At least 5 years previous experience as a P6 Planner preferably within the Utilities or construction and civil engineering sector.
• HNC/Degree level in Civil / Construction area
• Strong working knowledge of Primavera planning software
• Excellent time management and organisational skills

Package:

• Excellent salary of up to £55k depending on skillset and experience.
