My clients in Sussex & Hampshire are both in need of Principal level planning officers within their Major applications teams.
 
They need someone with experience of dealing with a range of major residential and commercial applications who is confident presenting at Planning Committee and would be able to represent the Council at Hearings and Public Inquiries.
 
The right candidate would be competent negotiating with major house builders on all technical matters, urban design and section 106 obligations, have a sound understanding of the tilted balance as a result of a lack of 5-year housing land supply, and ideally have experience of dealing with the Habitat Regulations and carrying out Appropriate Assessments.
 
Both councils have friendly, committed, and supportive team members and a good set up for remote working. We are largely working from home at the moment but working towards being in the officer 1-2 days a week. They would however be flexible on this for the right candidate.
Ideally, the clients would like a full-time candidate, however again they may be flexible for the right person.
 
Uniform and IDOX experience are desired but not essential.
 
Carrington West are willing to offer £45 per hour for these positions.
 
To be successful in this position you MUST BE:
·A Qualified Town Planner with significant experience within a Local Authority Planning Department
