Role and Responsibilities:
- Launch lead and grow the in-house civil engineering team to be the leader in the industry for high quality sustainable design.
- Grow the team to 3-5 people over the next 2 years.
- Set out roles/team structure required to make the team successful and find suitable personnel.
- Identify training that may be required to enhance team or fill knowledge gaps.
- Engage with and manage client needs, define project technical specifications, manage risk and commercial requirements.
- Produce company standards for delivering civil engineering aspects of projects.
- Ensure all technical aspects of the team's project work are undertaken in accordance with the Practice's QMS, EMS and H&S procedures.
- Ensure all projects are completed in a timely, cost effective manner to ensure client satisfaction.
- Assist with business development to further enhance, grow and diversify our civil engineering and infrastructure capabilities.
Person Specification (Experience and Qualifications):
- Forward thinking, ambitious and broad minded.
- Have a passion for driving sustainable design solutions and ensuring they are built.
- Experience of working across a broad range of clients, including private land developers, contractors and local authorities.
- Excellent communication, client handling and interpersonal skills.
- Experience of scoping and preparing fee proposals.
- Excellent IT skills including MS Office, Microdrainage, Civils 3D, Autocad.
- A minimum of 7-10 years of Civil Engineering Design experience.
Desirable
- Experience of leading civil engineering teams and projects in a client facing role and managing resources effectively.
