Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer – Building Services
As a result of business expansion, my client, an M&E design consultancy is looking to recruit dynamic Intermediate Engineers in their busy office in Manchester with the prospect of excellent career opportunities.
Industry sectors include, banking, commercial offices, retail, health and educational, working with established blue chip clients providing a varied, interesting and rewarding workload.
Duties and Responsibilities
·Work within a mechanical, electrical and public health (MEP) discipline team providing design and technical advice on projects lead by seniors or take a discipline lead role on smaller projects.
·Complete detailed designs.
·Carry out feasibility of the project specific to the discipline and contribute to the overall feasibility study for the project.
·Produce detailed equipment schedules for issue with the discipline specific designs.
·Carry out detailed calculations using Hevacomp and IES.
·Promote sustainability and energy efficiency within their designs and discuss the appropriate systems to implement with the senior team members.
·Carry out condition surveys for the discipline for combining into to an overall report.
·Deal with day-to-day queries from site allied to the discipline and report to the client via a senior member of the project team.
·Demonstrate acceptable technical and report writing skills.
·Work in co-ordination with all other design team members whether internal of external.
·Attend design team meetings and represent their technical discipline.
·Carry out defects inspections and snagging.
·Input into technical reviews and audits when requested. Ask for a technical review before the completion of key stages of projects.
·Communicate proactively and professionally with external design team members and our Have understanding of working with RevitMEP or other 3D design software, including AutoCAD and Microsoft office suite of software.
