Highways Inspector
 
- Salary: £25,450 - £34,814
- Location: Cornwall
- Working Hours: 37 hours per week
- Work Base: Hybrid, involving a combination of remote work from home, office presence, and on-site duties
 
About the Role
 
My client is actively seeking individuals to join their dynamic estate's adoption team as Highways Infrastructure Inspectors / Assistant Infrastructure Inspectors. This team is responsible for overseeing the adoption process of new roads, footways, and drainage systems on behalf of Cornwall Council throughout the entire county. They are looking for dedicated professionals who can serve as on-site representatives.
 
Working closely with the Adoption Engineers, the selected candidates will assume the crucial role of ensuring that developers adhere to the Council's specifications and approved plans while constructing roads and footpaths.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
·Conducting on-site visits within designated areas and engaging with developers and their construction teams.
 
·Thoroughly inspecting construction activities and verifying the suitability of materials being utilized.
 
·Documenting inspection findings accurately.
 
·Reviewing and analysing test results related to construction materials and processes.
 
·Identifying any encountered issues and collaborating with Adoption Engineers and developers to devise effective solutions.
 
The following qualifications and experience are essential:
 
·Experience in highway construction practices, design and/or maintenance and techniques including sustainable drainage systems
 
·Understanding of the Highways Act particularly relating to S278 and S38 agreements
 
·Relevant professional qualifications and/or membership in an appropriate professional body
 
·Knowledge of NRSWA 199
