Highways CAD Technician
 
My client are an independent transport planning consultancy formed in early 2011. Their office is based in Manchester city centre. They specialise in providing detailed highways design, transport, and traffic advice to predominantly private sector clients.
 
They are seeking an experienced Highways Cad Technician to join the Manchester based Transport Planning and Highway Engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a transport planning consultancy that puts its employees first. You will have the chance to work on various size schemes from small to some of the largest and most prominent residential developments in the UK.

You will provide technical assistance in the delivery of Highways design projects and will be responsible for assisting in the pre planning of road layouts, site access design, junction design, road signage, and highway improvements on residential & commercial projects across the UK.

Requirements:
 
·Previous experience working on highway design schemes.
·Developing highway designs in accordance with local design guides, MFS and the DMRB.
·Must be proficient in the use of AutoCad.
·PDS and sign design software an advantage however training will be given.
·Experienced in the design of traffic calming and cycle schemes.
·Proficiency in drainage design is an advantage but not essential as training will be given.
·Computer literate in Microsoft packages to assist in the production of technical reports.
