Job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experience Highway Technical Support Officer to come and join a busy client in the North West.
The main duties of the Highway Technical Support Officer are:
- Provide technical and administrative support within transport and infrastructure service teams.
- Deliver advice and guidance to members of the public, customers, councillors, and stakeholders on highways and transport related matters.
- Maintain and update accurate technical data across highways, traffic management, asset management, and adoption systems.
- Support the management of customer enquiries and correspondence within agreed service timescales using CRM systems.
- Assist with the preparation, tracking, and monitoring of works orders and related documentation.
- Support budget monitoring processes and management reporting requirements.
- Help produce management information and performance reports to support service delivery.
- Liaise with internal departments, contractors, and third parties involved in highway and transportation activities.
- Ensure accurate record keeping and compliance with organisational procedures and processes.
- Provide flexible support across wider transport and environmental service functions as required.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience within highways, transport, infrastructure, or technical support environments desirable.
- Strong administrative and organisational skills.
- Experience using CRM systems, databases, or asset management systems.
- Good communication skills with the ability to deal confidently with the public and stakeholders.
- Ability to manage workloads, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Competent in Microsoft Office and data management systems.
