Are you an experienced Business Support Officer/Administrator looking for a new challenge?
An opportunity has arisen for a Highway Support Officer to join a busy Highways team in Essex. This is a full-time contract position. The rate on offer is £11 - £13 per hour - negotiable for the right candidate. Flexible working arrangements are available.
 
Key Responsibilities:
·To carry out the duties of a Support Officer and for that purpose to be suitably experienced and competent. This will include assisting officers with operations including Street Lighting Management, Highway Licenses and obtaining Statutory Undertaker plans
·To deal with correspondence from members of the public and other sources
·To produce daily reports of works on the highway for inspection by others.
·To assist in the issuing of licences for skips, hoardings, scaffolding and road openings
·Assist in the preparation of third-party liability insurance claims
·To use computerised and other information systems within the team ensuring appropriate steps are taken to protect data integrity and to comply with the IT policy.
·To deal with emergencies and arranging for immediate response to make safe. To undertake public consultation and participation in connection with delivery of service
·To undertake general office duties
·To represent the department and the Council at meetings as required
·To use, develop and assist in the introduction of new information technology in the Transportation & Highways as appropriate.
·Other activities as may from time to time be agreed consistent with the grade and the requirements of Transportation and Highways services

About You:
