Highway Supervisor / Clerk of Works
 
I am recruiting for a Highway Supervisor / Clerk of Works to join a team based in Taunton who are responsible for the supervision of new highway infrastructure.
The Highway Supervisor / Clerk of Works will
 
1.Inspect and monitor the construction of highway infrastructure works implemented via private development, from commencement through to eventual adoption, by undertaking site visits and attendance at site meetings as required.
2.Instruct and advise developers, their contractor and/or agents upon all matters of specification and quality of workmanship to ensure works are constructed to appropriate standards acceptable to the Highway Authority.
3.Identify and document definitive lists of defects, decide upon the type and extent of remedial works necessary to address these identified defects, inclusive of these recommendations made in any pre-opening and post-opening Safety Audits and instruct developers, their contractors or agents accordingly.
4.Ensure the progression to adoption of previously or partially constructed infrastructure works by undertaking surveys that determine the extent of remedial works required.  Thereafter compose contract documentation, including designs, specifications, bills of quantities to facilitate the procurement of works via either the Service Provider or private sector contractors.  Manage the contract through construction to completion by supervising the works, directing works programming, measuring/valuation of completed works and authorising payments.
