Are you an experienced Transport Planner with business development and management experience and looking to join a company who will invest in you and your career?
 
An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone with a high sense of business acumen, to further develop and lead a national Transport Planning offer. The successful candidate will be joining an established NCE top 100 multi-disciplinary consultancy to develop and lead their own team, apply their expertise to a range of projects, and develop an existing portfolio of clients.   
 
This opportunity can be based in either London, Bristol or Exeter and there may be a potential opportunity for remote locations to be considered for the right candidate.
 
The role:
You will be responsible for developing the transport planning business through increased sales, sector market penetration and turnover, as well as managing commercially viability of work and providing technical direction.
You will work closely with the senior management team to develop and expand the Transport Planning business within the organisation and work collaboratively with other engineering disciplines to deliver a top quality of service and technical expertise.
 
Suitable applicants will ideally:
·Have a relevant professional qualification such as CEng or TPP and MCIHT.  An MSc (or equivalent) in Transport Planning would also be desirable.
·Have extensive experience in the private sector and significant experience in the public sector in development planning, having attended consultation events and prepared appeal statements.
·Be commercially astute, able to prepare successful technical and commercial bids, reports,  direct and manage projects and have a track record of delivering projects to programme and budget.
·Have exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
·Be able to develop, coach and motivate a team and support professional development.
·Be able to deliver to meet our client's needs and to quality and health and safety standards.
·Have wide ranging expertise including knowledge of National Transport Planning Policy and guidance, DMRB design standards, manual for streets and sustainable transport, prepared transport assessments/statements, travel plans, access appraisal, traffic modelling, design of junctions, traffic management and calming schemes.
