My local authority client in Greater Manchester are looking for a Head of Planning to come in and head up Planning Services and Building Control functions on an initial 6 month basis. You will lead, manage and deliver strategies that promote and secure the Council's development objectives. 

Being responsible to the Assistant Director of Economic Development and Regeneration you will be responsible for the staff and functions within the Development Management Service and Strategic Planning.

Due to the restrictions imposed by Covid-19 this is predominantly a remote working role so you can be based anywhere in the country. However there may be the odd requirement to attend the council office as the role progresses.

As Head of Planning your principal responsibilities will be:
·Lead, manage, develop and deliver strategies, programmes and initiatives that promote and secure the Council's Development objectives.
·Development and review of Greater Manchester Spatial FrameworkEnsure the Council's Development Management Service is commercially focused and responsive to market opportunities
·Support in management and development of relationships with developers, investors and other strategic partnerships locally, regionally etc
·Advise and support Chief Officers and Elected Members on all Development issues.
 
Pay rate for this post is negotiable depending on experience however has been deemed inside IR35.
