Job description

Corporate Lead (Major Projects)
 
South Yorkshire Local Authority are seeking a Corporate Lead to join their Team for an initial 3-6month post.
 
Rate is upto £500/day, Inside IR35.
 
Main Duties include:
 
1.Lead the development, delivery and implement of major corporate programmes and projects, including arranging the appointment of any necessary professional advisors and service providers.
2.Stimulate and bring about economic growth and renewal in the Council by leading and delivering on corporate projects, focusing on all major property and regeneration projects
 
3.Develop a centre of excellence for programme management and project management expertise
 
4.Ensure the council objectives of tackling inequality and sustaining the environmental are reflected in major corporate projects
 
5.Secure resources for future projects and to ensure compliance with all requisite statue, guidance and funders requirements
 
6.Build and sustain a cohesive and effective Corporate Projects Team, and participate in the Regeneration and Strategy Directorate Management Team and the council's Senior Extended Leadership Team
 
7.Provide guidance and support to other team members providing leadership and expertise or programme/project management as required
 
8.Appraise options for, and risk to, delivery of projects and make clear and concise recommendations to senior officers and elected members
 
9.Ensure reporting on the progress/delivery of programmes and projects is in place and meets the requirements of the relevant governance arrangements. Maintain programme and project budgets and financial forecasts in accordance with good practice (or ensure being maintained as appropriate)
 
10.Consider programmes and projects within a strategic context, requiring an appreciation of their impact on wider Council priorities
 
11.Responsible for the overall development and implementation of business planning and programmes/project management processes and procedures, ensuring that these are complied with
 
12.Initiate and develop projects to bring about the economic regeneration of the council in consultation and partnership with public and private sector partners
 
13.Represent the authority as required in the City Region and other relevant arenas, including identifying funding propositions, preparing submissions and securing funds
 
14.Assist with the development and servicing of Towns Board
