Job description

Job Role - Controls Engineer

Location - Hybrid, 2 days on site in Didcot when testing/installing

Contract length - 12 Months

Pay Rate - £400 a day (Inside IR35)

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in an appropriate electrical engineering discipline.
  • A sound knowledge of electrical/controls principles and techniques.
  • Experience of programming PLCs & HMIs using Omron CX-One, Sysmac Studio, Schneider Electric ProWORX 32, Unity/Control Expert or Bosch Rexroth Indraworks software.
  • Conversant with ladder logic.
  • Experience of working with drives and accelerator instrumentation (e.g. temperature sensors, flow meters, 4-20mA devices, position feedback devices, inverters etc.)
  • Computer literate in the use of Microsoft Office software and AutoCAD.
  • Fully conversant with engineering drawings and circuit diagrams.
  • Experience working on control systems in a large scale scientific facility
  • Relevant project experience relating to the design of PLC-based control systems.

  • Be willing to work in radiation areas
  • Excellent interpersonal skills - able to liaise with staff at all levels.
  • The use of initiative and a methodical approach to problem-solving is required.
  • Evidence of good English written skills and computer literacy
