Communication and Engagement Officer 
 
Carrington West are currently recruiting for an experienced communications and engagement professional to support the development, coordination, management and delivery of engagement plans for a wide range of highway infrastructure and behaviour change projects such as Low Traffic Neighborhood schemes. Proposals from all London boroughs had to be submitted, designed and delivered quickly. As a result preparation time was squeezed and we were unable to follow our usual practices and consulting extensively before introducing new schemes. 
 
We are looking for a person with a proven background in working for a local authority and familiar with the activity and responsibilities of a highways and transport function and the ability to develop and deliver multiple engagement, communications and publicity programmes simultaneously, including public consultations, surveys and stakeholder events. 
 
What you will need to succeed:

·communicates clearly, confidently and appropriately using the best tools and methods for the task.
·proficient in managing and prioritising a demanding engagement work programme to tight timescales 
·ability to influence and motivate a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders to achieve the objectives;  
·extensive communication and engagement planning including designing processes and creating templates    
·stakeholder mapping and drafting communications for a range of audiences, residents, businesses, community groups
·champions community engagement and ensure it is 'hard wired' into council decision making
