Commercial Building Surveyor £300 per day (dependant on Qualification) 3 Months Inside IR35 Bedfordshire

This post has a number of live construction projects ranging in value from circa £50K to £1.5million assigned to the role which are already on site. This is a great opportunity to join a professional team delivery a wide range of technical projects across the Councils portfolio including commercial properties, public buildings, and schools.
What will you do? ·Provide a comprehensive professional Building Surveying design and contract management service to internal and external clients, by delivering, controlling and managing construction related projects in a commercial and customer focused way, which achieves programs, meets performance targets, and the Councils Corporate Objectives. ·Ensure projects achieve BIM compliance according to government standards and support the Team Leader in achieving the objectives of the Project Delivery (Buildings) Team. ·Engage with internal and external stakeholders and contractors ensuring that services are delivered to a high quality, are customer focused, responsive and represent value for money adopting a commercial approach. ·To support in the management of Health and Safety ensuring that full compliance is met particularly in relation to the CDM Regulations and the Health and Safety at Work Act and that all industry statute is adhered to. ·To manage projects using project management protocol to include management of change, risk and budgetary control with engagement and regular reporting to all stakeholders.
What do you need? To be successful in your application for this role you will need to demonstrate the following on application and through the interview process: ·The successful candidate will have a proven track record and a minimum of 3 years' experience of job running medium sized construction projects from conception to completion. ·Be able to use auto CAD, prepare specifications for tender, administer minor and intermediate JCT works contracts and undertake the role of Principal designer. ·The candidate will need to have the knowledge and experience (ideally in the public sector) to hit the road running to lead projects from inception through to completion with experience of project managing projects using the PRINCE 2 methodology or similar project management tools and of JCT forms of contract. ·To work independently and to be a key team member offering professional consultancy support to colleagues and other teams across the council to install the 'one team' approach. ·An experienced 'all-rounder' with experience of working across a commercial property portfolio (not solely housing focused) to ensure the requisite skillsets. ·An ability to produce CAD drawings is a must! ·Must have experience with CDM Regulations and the Health and Safety at Work Act. ·Must be experienced in project management.
