The Role
 
This is an excellent opportunity for a talented Civil Engineer to join the London office to work on the design of some of the most exciting and challenging built environment projects in the UK and around the world. The team work collaboratively with their colleagues across all offices which means they have a fantastic pipeline of work that includes projects from London and the South East, across the UK and around the world.
 
As part of our established team of expert engineers and technicians, and working closely with colleagues of various disciplines, you will prepare detailed engineering calculations, and assist with specifications, scheme designs and project reports. You will work across a variety of sectors including leisure, residential, commercial, retail, healthcare and education and will have the opportunity over time to assume greater levels of responsibility and autonomy as your professional skills develop. With accredited professional development programmes from the ICE, you will be supported towards Chartership if you are not already Chartered.
 
This wide-ranging role will see you carrying out drainage and highways design including flood risk assessments, hydrological assessments, SuDS, below ground drainage design, external works design, road horizontal and vertical alignment, and earthworks analysis.
 
The role will require you to use your knowledge and expertise to define and translate clients' needs into designs for buildings, infrastructure, facilities, and services with sustainability at the forefront of the design. 
The Skills
Educated to degree level in Civil Engineering (MEng or equivalent), you have gained strong practical experience in a Civil Engineering role within a design consultancy environment and are already well-versed in relevant civil design software such as Microdrainage, and AutoCAD Civil 3D. You have a passion for creative and intuitive engineering and a demonstrable experience of design engineering for the built environment, including SuDS, below ground drainage design, and urban realm. You possess a desire for personal and professional development and have proven your ability to work effectively as part of a team.
 
You have an organised and methodical approach to managing tasks and priorities to meet deadlines and have a close appreciation of the commercial factors which affect design solutions.
 
Experience of walking, cycling and highway infrastructure design is desirable.
 
Given the collaborative and client focused nature of this role, excellent communication skills and experience of using your initiative to overcome challenges are essential.
