Building Surveyor (Corporate/Operational Property)
£350 per day  
6 Months
Inside IR35

Are you a Building Surveyor experienced in the management and delivery of repairs/maintenance of commercial properties?
 
If so, this 6-month rolling Local Authority Contact could give you just that. 
 
Who will you be joining?  
 
An established Building Surveying & FM team are in need of a surveyor reporting into the Programme Manager to assist them in ensuring their corporate and operational properties are safe, Comfortable and serviceable. This role will include surveying and management of works packages valued at up to £10million.
 
 
 
What will you do? 
 
If you are successful in securing this post you will be responsible for ensuring the following:
 
 · Reactive repairs and planned maintenance are specified and carried out to agreed and appropriate timescales by contractors
· Client representatives are supported in understanding charges applied for from the contractor
· Audits of contractor performance are carried
· Building maintenance technical expertise is up to date and applied to diagnose causes and mechanisms
· Complex or recurring maintenance issues across all property types are investigated
· Contracts for building consultancy or building works services are planned, briefed, specified, procured and managed in accordance with the Council policies
· Options are developed, analysed and selected on a sound and auditable basis
· Ensure risks are reported and escalated
 
What do you need?  
To be successful in your application for this role you will need to demonstrate the following on application and through the interview process:  
 
An appropriate surveying or engineering qualification or equivalent experience
- Experience of managing contractors, including FM services contracts
- Experience in drafting technical specifications for building fabric and/or M&E works
- Significant technical knowledge and surveying/quality inspection experience
- Excellent interpersonal skills including influencing and negotiating skills.
- Risk management experience
- Experience in following policies and procedures and using them to achieve agreed objectives
- Expertise in educational building maintenance and asset management is desirable
