We have a fantastic new permanent Nationwide opportunity for a Building Control Manager
 
Package
£60,000 annual salary. Package includes Car Allowance/Company Car (£250-350 a month), Private Medical Insurance and Mileage Allowance.
 
 
What will I do?
Direct and coordinate the internal structure of a national building control service, implementing company policies and achieving company goals and objectives to ensure a competent and compliant working environment and that quality standards are consistently met.
 
Ensuring the efficient day to day management of the Building Control Team. Oversee the Building Control team to ensure inspection and plan checking service delivery targets and quality levels are consistently met.
 
Responsibilities
·Regular travel and overnight stays will be required to Supervise, Monitor and Support the Building Control Team
·Undertake professional development reviews and carrying out regular assessment of the Building Control Team
·Ensuring professional staff along with technical trainees/graduates/associates and apprentices are working on projects for which they have appropriate levels of skill and experience
·Monitoring and reviewing the team's workload and priorities
·Carrying out duties in accordance with QMS procedures
·Ensuring all KPI's are in line with company policies and QMS
·Preparing reports for probation review and training needs
·Assisting the business with promoting company growth
·Carrying out additional duties as required by the wider ICW Group
·Undertaking mentoring duties and responsibilities in line with training and development plans
·Promoting and enforcing safety in the workplace
 
Candidate Profile
·Chartered membership of an appropriate professional institution (RICS, CABE, CIOB)
·Experience in the construction industry at management level
·Experience of plan checking and inspection of residential, mixed-use, and commercial developments within Building Control is essential.
·Able demonstrate a competent understanding whilst having the necessary ability, knowledge, and skill to complete the role successfully
·Good communication skills both verbal and written with appropriate interpersonal skills.
·Ability to effectively manage a varied and busy workload.
·Able to work with the minimum of supervision, in line with established policies and procedure
·Knowledge of environmental issues and relevant standards/legislation
·IT literate with the ability to use a range of software programs.
 
You will not need to bring any clients and will not be targeted on individual revenue.
