Carrington West is working with a local planning located in North London that is currently seeking a dedicated S106 Monitoring Officer to join a dynamic team on a fix term contract located in the heart of North London. As a crucial member of the planning department, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the implementation and monitoring of Section 106 (S106) agreements to facilitate sustainable development and community enhancements across our diverse borough.
Key Responsibilities:
·Monitoring and Compliance: Collaborate closely with developers, stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure adherence to S106 agreements and planning conditions.
·Data Management: Maintain accurate records and databases to track the progress of S106 obligations, financial contributions, and associated planning permissions.
·Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for senior management, committees, and external agencies to communicate the status and outcomes of S106 agreements.
·Negotiation: Engage in negotiations with developers and other parties to secure appropriate contributions towards infrastructure, affordable housing, and community facilities.
·Stakeholder Engagement: Foster positive relationships with local communities, councillors, and partner organizations to promote transparency and collaboration in the planning process.
Requirements:
·A degree or equivalent qualification in planning, urban development, or a related field.
·Proven experience working within a planning, development management, or regeneration environment, preferably within a local authority setting.
·Strong understanding of Section 106 agreements, planning legislation, and the UK planning system.
·Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
·Proficiency in IT systems and software, including databases, GIS, and Microsoft Office suite.
·Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
