Job description

My client a leading Telecoms  Network Provider building their own network in the West. They are providing full fibre networks to communities in the West of England and into Wales to improve the UK's infrastructure and broadband speeds.
 
They are currently looking for a Civils manager to work on a 12 month contract, looking after the delivery of the civil engineering work in Shropshire.
You will be responsible for managing several teams installing ducting and Fibre across the area. MAking sure the works are carried out on time and to the specifications of the plans. Instructing head office with any complications and design changes that need to happen, whilst ensuring the teams are working to the correct safety standards and are abiding by NWSRA.
 
Responsibilities:
 
·Monitor and manage site operations and ensure the supervisors have guidance over the teams
·Report to the Operations director with progress on KPI's / for any changes required on site
·Ensure productivity is at the high levels required
·Ensure all pre & post installation documents are completed and permits are obtained for the work
·Build relationships with local authorities
·Communicate with other Utility companies where necessary
·Evaluate resource, equipment and materials throughout the projects life cycle
·Remain up to date with current H&S regulations
 
 
Requirements:
 
·Previous work within the Telecoms industry
·A good understanding of QSHE
·Good interpersonal skills
·Ability to write risk assessments and build method statements
·Understanding of NRSWA
·Civil engineering qualification such as ONC (Desirable)
·First Aid on site & IOSH
·Project MAnagement qualification such as Prince 2 or SMSTS
·CSCS Supervisor
